On Nov. 15, a cyclone ripped through the poor nation of Bangladesh resulting in death, destruction and displacement. Over 3,000 are dead, 900,000 families are affected, over 74,000 homes are demolished, and over 1 million people are displaced.
Just days ago, MercyWorks had a medical team return from several weeks of service in Bangladesh. A YWAM assessment team has been dispatched and MercyWorks is ready to respond based on their findings.
Most likely we will need:
- initially, medical teams and grief counselors will be needed
- finances to purchase items such as food, medicine, shelters
- construction teams will most likely be needed early next year
- finances for rebuilding homes and churches
